Job summary

Maricopa County Elections is seeking Temporary Ballot Tabulation Center floaters to organize and process ballots, provide guidance, and perform data entry. The roles include Adjudicator, Inspector, or Operator as needed, with optional duties in equipment setup and testing.

Overtime may be required during the election cycle, and a retention incentive is offered. Eligibility includes a high school diploma or GED, with preference for prior election-related or office experience.

  • One or more years of election experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish valued.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all Tabulation Room tasks and is cross-trained in all areas of the Tabulation Room.
  • Remains flexible to fill in where needed and collaborates in teams of two representing different political affiliations.
  • Maintains accurate and legible documentation of ballot processing.
  • Lifts up to 50-pound ballot trays to the tabulation machine and assists with setting up/testing equipment.

This position serves as a BTC Adjudicator, BTC Inspector, or BTC Operator, as needed, and assists with other assigned tasks. Floaters may also be asked to help with equipment setup and testing. If there is a recount, all floaters are asked to return after the election to assist with it. This is a temporary position supporting the November General Election with an anticipated start date in October.Apply Today!
