Job summary

Maricopa County Elections seeks Temporary Ballot Tabulation Center Inspector to support the election process by organizing and processing ballots, providing guidance, and performing data entry.

Responsibilities include assisting adjudication teams, maintaining legible ballot records, and coordinating with other divisions. The role requires being a registered Arizona voter, passing a background check, and willingness to work overtime during the election cycle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be a registered voter in Arizona by hire date.
• Must be an Independent or Party Not Designated voter.
• Pass a background check.
• Ability to work overtime during election cycle.

Responsibilities

• Assists Adjudication teams when unsure about a voter’s intent by providing guidance and clarification.
• Stands throughout the assignment, moving between teams to provide guidance.
• Maintains accurate and legible documentation of ballot processing.
• Assists other divisions within Elections or the Recorder’s Office with daily operations and additional duties.

We Require

This position requires a high school diploma or GED.

Other Requirements

• Must be a registered voter or have the ability to become a registered voter in the State of Arizona by the time of hire
• Must be an Independent or Party Not Designated registered voter
• Must pass an applicable background screening
• Must be able to work overtime as necessary
• Must have legible penmanship

• One or more years of general office experience
• One or more years of moderate computer use experience
• One or more years of election experience
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

Working Conditions

• Full-time/Temporary/Holidays/Overtime hours are mandatory during the election cycle
• Requires upper extremity repetitive motion, the ability to review small fonts on hard copy or computer screen, and the ability to stand for extended periods of time
• All operations will be conducted under Livestream cameras and in the presence of political observers
• Closed-toed shoes must be worn at all times
• Must not engage in any political discussion

Requires the use of:

• Proprietary elections software
• Tabulation machine
• Scanners
• Microsoft Office products
