Job summary

Delos Insurance Solutions is seeking a temporary Associate Underwriter to join our team. The role focuses on underwriting homeowners and other residential property lines in catastrophe-exposed regions, with emphasis on risk selection and timely submissions.

The position requires an active California Property & Casualty license and is a 1099 independent contractor engagement, offering 30–40 hours per week through December 31, 2026. This is a non-employee role with no benefits.

Qualifications

• California Property & Casualty license required.
• 2–4 years of property underwriting or related personal lines experience.
• Experience with risk selection, underwriting execution, claims, customer service, or other related personal lines insurance functions.
• Strong communication skills with a customer-service mindset when working with agents and producers.

Responsibilities

• Review, assess, and underwrite new business and renewal submissions across homeowners and other residential property lines.
• Handle ongoing underwriting work, including inspection reviews, endorsements, system tasks, and related activities.
• Meet established production expectations for the Associate Underwriter function.
• Refer guideline exceptions to an Underwriter or Senior Underwriter for approval.
