Job summary

Delos Insurance Solutions is seeking an Associate Underwriter to support property underwriting operations. You will review new business and renewals, assess risk, and manage ongoing underwriting activities while collaborating with appointed agents.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, experience in personal lines, and the ability to balance risk selection with business objectives in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of property underwriting or related personal lines experience (homeowners/residential property).
• Understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and risk selection.

Responsibilities

• Underwriting & Risk Assessment: review, evaluate, and underwrite new business and renewal submissions for homeowners and other residential property lines.
• Manage daily underwriting activities, including inspection reviews, endorsements, and system-generated tasks.
• Evaluate property risk characteristics per guidelines and risk appetite.
• Identify profitable risks while minimizing adverse selection.
• Meet or exceed production and quality standards.
• Escalate guideline exceptions for approval.
• Agent Communication & Collaboration: serve as underwriting resource for appointed agents and provide timely, accurate communication.
• Partner with Distribution team to support agent training and underwriting education.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve underwriting efficiency and service quality.
