Temporary Administrative Support Specialist

Pay Range

This range is provided by WV Departments of Health, Health Facilities, and Human Services. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range: $15.00/hr - $18.00/hr

Position Overview

This position supports the Department of Human Services, Bureau for Medical Services, by assisting Human Resources, managers, and staff with administrative and clerical duties.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide front desk support by answering, screening, and transferring phone calls.
  • Greet visitors, determine their purpose, and direct or escort them.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings and conferences.
  • Handle correspondence and manage mail.
  • Transmit information or documents via computer, mail, or fax.
  • Create, maintain, and input data into databases.
  • Operate office equipment, including copiers and phones.
  • Assist with meeting setup and prepare necessary documents.
  • Maintain physical and digital files.
  • Train new employees and prepare reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Training: Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Experience: Five years of full-time or equivalent part-time clerical experience at the Office Assistant 3 level, including typing, screening calls, correspondence, and routine writing.

Substitution: College hours or related vocational training may substitute for up to two years of experience.
