Job Description

The Student Services Assistant works independently, performing a wide range of complex and confidential administrative and clerical support duties. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, solid customer service, and the ability to provide information to a wide range of internal and external contacts. In additional to clerical support, the Administrative Assistant will assist the Student Services department with supporting the student enrollment process, preparing student records and supporting the College in achieving overall retention and enrollment goals.

This is a market position that will function out of the Buffalo campus and will require some days working out of the Amherst and SouthTowns campuses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Registration/Scheduling: Creation and management of semester and yearly class schedules, including all changes, in an accurate and timely manner. Registration and scheduling data entry for new and continuing students. Review new student files for compliance.
  2. Reporting: Gathers, analyzes, and completes information required for administrative report generation.
  1. Transcript Duties: Assists with the fulfillment of official Bryant & Stratton College transcript requests. Evaluates transcripts to determine number of transfer credits.
  1. Customer Service: Provides customer service through reviewing, assessing, routing, answering, and monitoring follow-up action steps on all correspondence (phone, mail, Email, text, chat).
  2. Technical Applications: Uses multiple technical applications including MSOffice (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), database management, graphics, electronic calendar, email via Outlook, LMS and other technical applications.

Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree required
  • 2 – 3 years of experience in an administrative role
  • Ability to learn curriculum requirements, course content and necessary pre‑requisites within each degree program offered
  • Internet Savvy with multiple browsers
  • Ability to function effectively as part of a team to meet overall campus goals
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office product, especially Excel
  • Ability to work evenings and Saturdays (as stated above)
Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 – 3 years of experience in higher education
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Position requires standing or sitting in a stationary position as well as the occasional need to lift, carry, push, and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Position also requires the use of computer technology/equipment.
  • Position requires the ability to hear conversations and receive information in person and over the telephone.
  • Position requires the ability to convey detailed and important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Salary:

$39,000 - $40,000 ($18.75-$19.23 per hour)

This position is eligible for overtime.

The selected candidate’s actual base pay for this role will take into account a wide range of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At Bryant & Stratton College, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Information about the total compensation package for this position will be provided during the interview process.
