Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids seeks a highly skilled Electronics Technician to support TEMPEST Engineering. The role involves hands-on testing, breakout box design, and collaboration with TEMPEST Team Lead and engineers to develop and test complex systems.

Candidates must have 10+ years on E6 platforms, ability to obtain DoD Top Secret clearance, and will work onsite with periodic travel. The position includes occasional after-hours work, strong documentation, and adherence to EHS and

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Top Secret clearance.
• AA/AS degree or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• 10+ years of experience on E6 platforms, including installation and testing.
• Proficiency with test instruments and interpreting wiring/schematic diagrams.
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio) and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design breakout boxes, procure components, and build test setups for TEMPEST/EMP.
• Build and assemble test fixtures and cable assemblies under supervision.
• Review and maintain engineering documentation and test procedures.
• Troubleshoot using advanced electronic theory and testing methods.
• Set up and validate configurations in lab and on-platform environments.
• Communicate with cross-functional teams and customers to support tests.
• Identify process improvements and contribute to engineering practices.
• Serve as a technical lead for assigned tasks and maintain professional conduct.
