Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids seeks a highly skilled Electronics Technician to support TEMPEST engineering. The role involves hands-on TEMPEST and EMP testing, lab and platform test setup, data collection, and engineering support across multiple facilities.

The ideal candidate will work autonomously, adapt to evolving requirements, and collaborate with engineering teams and customers. Willingness to travel and occasional after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience on E6 platforms including installation, wiring, and field trouble-shooting.
• Proficiency with test equipment and interpreting schematics.

Responsibilities

• Design breakout boxes, procure components, and build test setups for TEMPEST/EMP.
• Assemble fixtures and cable assemblies under supervision of Lead TEMPEST/EMP Engineer.
• Review and update engineering docs and test procedures.
• Troubleshoot using advanced electronic theory and lab tests.
• Set up and validate configurations in lab and on-platform environments.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and customers on test activities.
• Identify process improvements and advance engineering practices.
• Act as technical lead for assigned tasks and ensure policy compliance.
• Support off-hours work and periodic travel as required.
• Perform 100% onsite work or at customer locations as needed.
