Job summary

ODL is seeking an Assembler III - Tempering to operate and handle annealed and tempered glass, ensuring cycle times and safety compliance.

You will work with Hegla, Tenon, and Glaston tempering equipment, following instructions, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring quality and productivity across stations.

Role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and willingness to flex to other departments to meet customer needs; prior experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 3+ years of related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, labels and production schedules; communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Handles, stages, and organizes annealed and tempered glass through the Hegla, Tenon, and Glaston tempering equipment.
• Refers to on-screen faults and operating instructions while performing tasks involving the Hegla, Tenon, and Glaston tempering equipment.
• Troubleshoots and articulates issues associated with the operation of the Hegla, Tenon, and Glaston tempering equipment.
• Uses equipment-specific controls accurately to achieve the desired function while operating the Heglas, Tenon, and Glaston tempering equipment.
• Fully trained regarding the PPE and safety requirements associated with the handling of annealed and tempered glass.
• Builds cartons, lids, and other packaging for the work stations.
• Assists with the movement of materials into and out of work area as needed.
• Performs other tasks such as rework, special projects, and continuous improvement projects as needed or requested by the supervisor.
• Seeks ways to improve the safety, quality, delivery, and cost of the operation and submits ideas to the supervisor.
• Flexes to other departments and positions as schedules and customer needs change.
• Supports improvements and changes.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
