Job summary

Cardinal Corp in Galt, CA is seeking an unloading technician to handle custom tempered glass at the tempering unload, ensuring proper handling and minimal quality issues.

You will read and measure glass with a tape, inspect for defects, and place glass into correct positions using bungees, harps, and squeeze racks, while coordinating with QA and furnace operator.

This graveyard shift runs Monday–Thursday, 5:45pm–4:15am, with pay of $20.00 per hour plus a $2.00 shift differential.

Qualifications

• Must adhere to safety policies and wear PPE.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

• Never allow the line to back up with glass.
• Maintain a high sense of urgency.

Job description

This position is responsible for unloading Custom tempered glass at the Tempering unload. Proper glass handling techniques and minimal quality glass inspection a must.

4/10hr Shifts: Graveyard

Monday - Thursday 5:45pm - 4:15am

Pay: $20.00+$2.00 Shift Differential

Essential Job Functions

• Read/measure glass accurately with tape measure
• Check glass quality and be able to indentify basic glass defects
• Place glass in correct Customer positions into bungees, harps and squeeze racks
• Should be able to accurately reject glass from bungees and squeeze racks
• Properly close finished orders
• Must be able to properly edge delete glass without causing Quality issues
• Read and fill out proper unload paperwork (run list, packing maps)
• Should be able to set up customer orders properly
• Communicate with the Q.A and furnace operator in regards to quality or breakage issues
• Never allow the line to get backed up with glass
• Must possess a high sense of urgency

Non-essential Job Functions

• Help out unload packer when able depending on glass production requirements
• Help out with coating, maintenance and other work station operations if asked
