Job summary

MOXY Phoenix Tempe is seeking a dynamic Captain (General Manager) to lead our high-energy team in Tempe. You will own the Moxy vision, drive financial targets, and ensure memorable guest stays while maintaining Marriott standards.

As the on-site culture chief, you’ll recruit and mentor leaders, oversee operations across departments, and partner with Sales and Marketing to build community ties with ASU and local businesses.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Hotel General Manager or Captain in a lifestyle/hospitality setting.
• Marriott/Moxy experience is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to drive revenue, guest satisfaction, and brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Own the Moxy vision and align with ownership goals.
• Build a high-performance team and culture of spirited service.
• Lead by example to ensure guest-first experiences on every shift.
• Recruit, mentor, and promote internal leaders and retain top talent.
• Oversee total hotel operations across departments (Front Desk, Housekeeping, Engineering, F&B, Sales, Admin).
• Deliver memorable guest experiences and drive guest satisfaction metrics.
• Resolve guest issues quickly with effective service recovery while upholding brand standards.
• Develop annual business plans and budgets; manage costs and labor without compromising the vibe.
• Monitor RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, and GOP margins; analyze data for quick wins and pivots.
• Collaborate with Sales/Marketing to grow market share and local demand; build partnerships with ASU and community groups.
• Be the public face in Tempe, forge local partnerships, and balance Marriott standards with local innovation.
