Job summary

Computational Physics Inc is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a short-term GovCon engagement in North Springfield, VA. You will work directly with the Controller to close books and prepare for year-end review, operating with independence from day one.

The role focuses on deep GL review, reconciliations, ESOP data preparation, and ICS/ICE submissions, with up to 40 hours/week and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Significant senior-level accounting experience with a government contractor.
• Experience preparing Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS/ICE) and knowledge of indirect rate structures.
• Strong command of FAR Part 31 and DCAA expectations.
• Proven year-end close, GL reconciliation, and schedule-building skills.
• Advanced Excel and the ability to build clean, review-ready workpapers.
• Self-directed; comfortable walking into messy books and bringing order without hand-holding.

Responsibilities

• Perform a deep review of all GL accounts and resolve issues for year-end readiness.
• Build and maintain supporting schedules for the review, including reconciliations and account roll-forwards.
• Support ESOP-related valuation work by compiling data for the third-party firm.
• Assist in preparing ICS/ICE, including schedules and reconciliation to financial statements.
