HRB is seeking a Senior Government Contract Accountant to provide critical year-end accounting support for a federal contractor in Springfield, VA. This hands-on consulting role requires rapid integration into the team and the ability to deliver value during a busy close cycle.

The ideal candidate has deep government contracting expertise, including ICS, ICE model schedules, indirect rates, FAR Part 31, and DCAA compliance, with strong ledger, reporting, and audit preparation skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in government contracting environments.
• Experience with ICS, ICE models, and indirect rates.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Prepare year-end schedules and audit-ready workpapers
• Support month-end and year-end close activities
• Assist with annual Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS)
• Develop and maintain ICE model schedules
• Prepare indirect rate calculations and reconciliations
• Support financial reporting and audit requests
• Ensure FAR Part 31 cost principles compliance
• Partner with finance leadership on special projects
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and account research
• Support DCAA audit requests and compliance initiatives
