The City of Kodiak Parks and Recreation Department is recruiting for temporary Recreation Assistants.
The Department is looking for an experienced team player that has a desire to be a part of a progressive Parks and Recreation Department working hard to serve the needs of our community.
This position provides the necessary support to successfully and safely run the various Parks and Recreation programs. Positions work closely with youth, parents, and volunteers; and monitor activities and responsible use of facilities to ensure public safety. Under direct supervision of lead worker or Recreation Coordinator, this position coordinates programs, oversees participants, facility operations, organized group activities and games, and monitors adult, youth or family activities and special events.
Must have current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications or able to obtain. Prefer up to one year of experience in related field. Must have achieved a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED). High school student applicants are exempt from this requirement.
Must be available to work evenings, holidays and weekends as needed.
