Job summary

Poway Healthcare Center seeks an Occupational Therapist Assistant (Temporary, full-time) to support residents under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist. Responsibilities include direct resident care, performing therapeutic activities, and documenting progress in medical records.

Responsibilities also include maintaining a safe treatment environment, participating in care conferences, educating families on home exercise programs, and assisting with restorative staff training.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited COTA program.
• Proficient in electronic documentation systems (Net Health, PCC).
• Licensed as Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation in accordance with requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment with infection control protocols.
• Assist in Resident Care conferences and Rehab meetings.
• Assist nursing with training Restorative Aides.
• Communicate progress to physicians, nursing staff, and families.
• Educate residents and families on goals, home programs, and safety.
• Recommend durable medical equipment to support ADLs.
