Job summary

Poway Healthcare Center seeks a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to support the staff OT with direct patient care in a hospital-like setting. The role includes documenting progress and following physician plans to aid patient recovery, with emphasis on teamwork and patient safety.

The position requires state licensure for an OTA and familiarity with Casamba and Point Click Care, plus the ability to train Restorative Aides and participate in discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Staff Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state.
• Proficient in Casamba and Point Click Care.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Record daily and weekly notes per OT Board.
• Assist nursing department with training of Restorative Aides.
• Communicate patient progress with supervisor and health team.
• Participate in in-services training for other staff in the facility.
• Record evaluations and documentation per policy and government requirements.
• Instruct families or nursing staff in discharge preparation.
• Participate in discharge planning.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area.
• Report equipment problems to keep department in good order.
