Job summary

A rapidly growing organization seeks an HR Assistant to support human resources activities by managing data, preparing reports, and coordinating employee training. The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma, preferably with HR experience, and strong organizational and communication skills to thrive in this dynamic work environment.

Job description

Compensation: $17.28 - $21.00 per hour, depends on experience

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Position Summary

Perform a variety of time-sensitive, skilled administrative and clerical duties directly related to human resources activities.Supports the department in fostering positive employee relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Input and maintain data needed to prepare a variety of reports, including: New Hire and Termination reports, and the Employee Roster.Prepare other reports as needed
  • Establish and/or maintain a tracking system for employee evaluations, TB tests, physicals, auto insurance, credentials, licenses, and trainings.Notify employees and their supervisors of any required renewals
  • Coordinate and schedule various employee trainings (i.e., First Aid, CPR, NCI, etc.)Notify staff and their supervisors when attendance is required
  • Maintain Human Resources department database and files. Close out and store personnel files for separated employees.Maintain the HR master calendar.

Other Duties

· Comply with ECF’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program.Ensure safe use and operation of tools and/or equipment.

· Comply with ECF policies and procedures, including mandated reporting requirements.

· Regular, reliable attendance.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Licenses/Certifications: High School diploma.

Experience: Two years as an HR Assistant preferred or similar skills

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:

  • Working knowledge of human resources principals, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Abillity to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters and interactions with others in a positive, professional manner using tact, diplomacy, and discretion
  • Highly organized with the ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
  • Take initiative and follow up/follow through in a timely manner to meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Access
  • Excellent communication skills, including grammar and punctuation
  • G ood math aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Keyboard speed of 50 wpm.

Requirements

  • Provide evidence of a negative TB test initially

Work site is located in a building shared with a school for students (grades K–12 th ) who have varying degrees of learning, behavioral, emotional, and developmental disabilities.Employee may encounter students who are in crisis, exhibiting emotional/psychological distress, or behaving in an aggressive manner.Environment may include frequent interruptions, loud noise, odors, varying indoor temperature, and drafts.May encounter inclement weather when traveling for ECF business.
