Beacon Hill is seeking a temporary HR Generalist to join our manufacturing Northfield, IL operation for a three-month onsite assignment. The role covers onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, HRIS maintenance and data integrity, and support for the Operations Group with strong customer service and organizational focus.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in HR or related field and at least 5 years of HR experience in manufacturing, plus proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR management, business administration or related field is preferred.
  • 5 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint; HRIS experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily HR duties including onboarding, offboarding, payroll liaison and benefits administration.
  • Coordinate new employee onboarding, orientation, and training activities.
  • Coordinate employee off-boarding including exit interviews and process.
  • Maintain employee files and update records in HRIS and relevant databases.
  • Assist with health and welfare enrollment, open enrollment and terminations.
  • Serve as liaison between the company and providers to ensure strong relationships.
  • Maintain workers’ compensation records and manage claims.
  • Provide guidance on handbook, benefits and compliance matters.
  • Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate records and corrections as needed.
  • Support training scheduling and participation, including new hire orientation.

Salary: USD25 - USD30 per hour

A manufacturing company inNorthfield is seeking a temporary HR Generalist. This position will last for three months and is located onsite. The Human Resources Generalist’s position responsibility falls into several categories including employee on-boarding and off-boarding, benefits salary administration, Human Resource Information System (HRIS) maintenance and data integrity, manager and employee services, and HR process implementation and support, with a strong focus on the Operations Group. Must have strong communication and organizational skills, be customer service driven, and have a passion for supporting the Human Resources department to deliver results that are in line with the vision of the company.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supports the Human Resources Department in all daily duties to include compensation, benefits, employee relations, contractor agreements, personnel file maintenance, staffing, employee onboarding, orientation and exits.
  • Coordinates all activities for new employee on-boarding including first day orientation, employee payroll and benefit portal training, as well as job specific on-boarding training and activities.
  • Coordinates employee off-boarding including exit interviews and exit process.
  • Creates and maintains employee files and updates information in appropriate databases.
  • Assists with administration of Health and Welfare plans including new hire enrollment, open enrollment, and terminations. Processes required documentation through payroll and insurance providers to ensure proper deductions.
  • Acts as liaison between the company and its providers – fostering effective relationships with client representatives.
  • Maintains Workers’ Compensation records and manages claims.
  • Provides continuous education to employees on handbook, benefit, and compliance related issues.
  • Works closely with Payroll to help maintain payroll systems, employee records, audits payroll and benefit systems for discrepancies, make corrections/adjustments as needed.
  • Assists in resolving employee relations issues at the direction of the Vice President, Human Resources.
  • Scheduling and support for training and development initiatives and in certain instances, facilitating training (i.e. New Hire Orientation)
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management, Business Administration or equivalent preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience providing Human Resource support in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience with HRIS and report writing preferred.
