Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Gallery of Iconic Guitars and the Frederick Hart Studio Museum.
  • Provide visitor services, data management, and assist with events as assigned.
  • Supervise student docents and assist with special projects and events.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

TheTemporary Galleries Supervisoris responsible forday-to-dayoperations of the Gallery of Iconic Guitars and the Frederick Hart StudioMuseum, including visitor services, administrative duties, data management, andspecial events as assigned. This position has three essentialfunctions:operatingthe galleries at the Lila D. Bunch Library,providing oversight for student docents, andassistingwithspecialprojects and eventsasassigned. Thesuccessful candidate will have a strong customer service ethic; ateam-orientated work style; and well-developed interpersonal, verbal, andwritten communication skills. The ability to work independently to organize andprioritize multiple assignments is critical to this position as is thoroughnessand attention to detail. Required Education

Required:High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred:Associate or bachelor’s degree in Museum Studies, Art History, Library Science, Arts Administration, Hospitality, Communications, Education, or a related field.

Required Experience

Required:Two years of experience in customer service, front desk operations, visitor services, hospitality, administrative support, or a related public-facing environment. Experience working independently and managing multiple responsibilities with attention to detail. Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preferred:Experience working in a museum, gallery, library, cultural institution, university, or similar environment. Experience supervising, training, or coordinating student employees, volunteers, docents, or other part-time staff. Experience with ticketing, admissions, visitor management, events, or public programs. Experience handling sensitive collections, exhibits, facilities, or security-related procedures.

The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University.
