Tompkins Community Bank is seeking a Wire Operations Specialist to handle daily processing of wire transfers, ACH/Direct Deposit transmittals, and correspondent bank reconciliation in a multi-bank environment.

The role requires strong attention to detail, regulatory knowledge, and excellent customer service to internal and external clients. Responsibilities include reconciling wires, monitoring fraud risk, and ensuring NACHA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of banking operations experience, especially payments processing.
• AAP or banking certifications preferred.
• Experience reconciling GL accounts and identifying discrepancies.
• Strong customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage repetitive, sensitive data.
• Proficiency with MS Office and financial software systems.
• Analytical mindset with ability to review information from multiple sources.

Responsibilities

• Process wire transfers and ACH/Direct Deposit transactions.
• Reconcile incoming/outgoing wires with Federal Reserve daily.
• Reconcile international wire statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Balance multiple general ledger accounts daily.
• Ensure all transfers comply with policies and OFAC/UCC 4A rules.
• Verify wire details and maintain logs; communicate with branches/customers.
• Manage ACH stop payments and Regulation E disputes.
• Review ACH returns and exceptions daily.
• Respond to ACH reclamations and government requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
