Job summary

Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited seeks a Temporary Trading Assistant in New York to support derivatives trading and related operations. You will help process orders, prepare reports, and coordinate with global teams to maintain accurate front-office records.

Ideal candidates have a finance or economics background, 3–5 years of trading or banking ops experience, and strong Excel/Word skills with Bloomberg/Reuters familiarity. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance or economics.
• 3-5 years of experience as a trading officer or in bank operations.
• Strong mathematical ability and quick calculations.
• Proficient in Excel and Word; Bloomberg and Reuters preferred.
• Visual Basic knowledge preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication; ability to work in a team.
• Familiar with GMU procedures manual and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day execution of products, operations and customer transactions.
• Compile, process and communicate market order information.
• Prepare tickets and review position/performance reports; input trades.
• Coordinate with Head Office Tokyo on queries and administration.
• Assist in developing new strategies to expand market business.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and conduct; assist with admin tasks.
• Support with periodic reviews and documentation management.
