Job summary

The candidate will use NextGen PM, adhere to coding conventions, and communicate documentation changes to clinicians. A valid coding certificate and 2 years of experience are required, with California licensure considerations noted.

Qualifications

• Two years of coding experience required.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS coding standards.
• Certification from AHIMA or AAPC required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code diagnostic and procedural information using ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS.
• Enter codes in NextGen PM for encounters and claims.
• Ensure compliance with AMA/CMS coding guidelines and payer policies.
• Educate providers on documentation requirements for coding accuracy.
• Communicate changes in coding guidelines to clinical staff.
