Job summary

Southern Indian Health Council, Inc. Alpine, CA seeks a Temp Certified Professional Coder to review, analyze, and code diagnostic and procedural information for reimbursement using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.

The role supports accurate data for reimbursement and compliance, requires two years coding experience, AHIMA or AAPC certification, and familiarity with NextGen PM. Work hours are 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Certificate or AA/AS degree with at least 2 years coding experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, CPT ICD-10, HCPCS coding required.
• Coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC required.

Responsibilities

• Complete and accurate coding of dropped charges in NextGen PM for each encounter.
• Identify clinical findings and support diagnoses using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS codes.
• Follow AMA and CMS conventions for diagnostic and procedural codes.
• Submit tasks in NextGen EHR for provider information and claims submission.
• Educate providers on documentation changes by third-party payers.
