Qualifications

• Hold a valid CPC certification from AAPC.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Exhibit meticulous attention to detail to prevent billing errors.
• Be proficient with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and coding software.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review medical documentation, including physician notes and operative reports, to verify coding accuracy.
• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II codes based on reviewed documentation.
• Support the medical billing process by verifying claims and ensuring proper reimbursement.
• Maintain regulatory compliance by adhering to healthcare laws, payer guidelines, and privacy standards like HIPAA.
• Investigate and resolve claim denials by correcting codes and communicating with providers or billing teams.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to clarify incomplete or ambiguous clinical documentation.
