Cooley seeks a Temporary BIC Compliance Analyst to join the Business Intake and Conflicts team in San Francisco. Key duties include tracking new business requests, maintaining ethical walls, analyzing and resolving conflicts, and training staff.

Qualifications

• Requires experience using MS Office, iManage, IntApp Open and Contract Express in a law-firm setting.
• Knowledge of ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct and California Rules of Professional Conduct.
• Three or more years in a law firm, legal environment or conflicts department.
• Bachelor's degree or JD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Timely track and follow up on New Business requests and engagement letters.
• Draft, set up and maintain ethical walls in the firm’s ethical walls database.
• Analyze, review and draft database warnings and alerts.
• Review matter name changes and identify conflicts from conflict reports.
• Resolve outstanding requests from departing timekeepers and secretaries.
• Interact with partners via email and phone to resolve issues.
• Advise attorneys of special circumstances surrounding forms.
• Assist with conflicts analysis and current legal trends research.
• Provide conflicts training to staff and attorneys as needed.
• Participate in department projects and tech testing.
