Job summary

Mercor seeks a meticulous Telugu annotator to structure and transcribe pages in Telugu. You will identify and bound each meaningful region, assign types and reading order, and link regions to related figures or tables. Transcriptions must be faithful to the original Telugu script, including handwriting where present.

You will also verify page content, flag illegible areas, and contribute to peer reviews. Experience with real Telugu documents such as newspapers, exams, and manuals is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Native Telugu speaker with full command of Telugu script and orthography.
• Experience with document annotation, transcription, or localization is preferred.
• Extremely precise with character-level accuracy in complex layouts.

Responsibilities

• Open and verify each page is Telugu, legible, and content-rich before annotating.
• Annotate structure: bound every meaningful region with type and reading order.
• Record relationships between regions and figures/tables via parent IDs.
• Transcribe faithfully in Telugu script, noting illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata and participate in multi-step quality reviews.
