Job summary

Mercor is seeking a native Telugu speaker for document annotation and transcription tasks. The role focuses on high-precision, character-level Telugu transcription across multi-column layouts, with strict structure annotation and reading-order indexing.

Qualifications

• Native Telugu Speaker with full script knowledge.
• Attention to character-level accuracy in transcription.

Responsibilities

• Open and verify Telugu task pages provided for annotation.
• Identify and bound meaningful regions (title, headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, figures, captions, formulas, questions, answers) with types and reading order indexes.
• Record relationships by linking regions to their parent figures or tables.
• Transcribe faithfully in Telugu script, flagging unreadable regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas, and handwriting.
• Participate in peer review where a second Telugu expert validates the work.
