Job summary

Mercor is seeking a meticulous Bengali annotator to structure and transcribe Bengali documents with pixel-perfect accuracy. You will identify and bound sections such as titles, headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, and figures, while preserving exact script and reading order across multi-column layouts.

Ideal candidates are native Bengali speakers with experience in annotation, proofreading, or localization, delivering consistent accuracy through peer reviews and document diversity.

Qualifications

• Must be a native Bengali speaker with full command of Bengali script and orthography.
• Character-level accuracy matters; diacritics and conjunct forms must be correct.
• Experience with document annotation, transcription, or localization is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Open and verify task pages to ensure Bengali content and legibility.
• Annotate page structure: bound regions with type and reading order index.
• Record relationships by linking regions to their parent figures/tables.
• Transcribe text exactly as Bengali script, flag illegible content.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, dimensions, and handwriting/handwriting flags.
• Review colleague's work through second-expert review.
