Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Basic math skills are essential for daily transactions.
• Proficiency with a PC, telephone, scanner and copier is expected.
• Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods.
• May be required to lift boxes over 25 pounds.
• Occasional travel to various branch locations may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Handle deposits, withdrawals, and transfers on teller line or drive-through.
• Post loan and VISA payments; process night deposits.
• Close share and share draft accounts; balance cash drawer daily.
• Scan checks for Fed processing; issue cashier's checks.
• Process stop payments and wire transfer requests; manage transfers.
• Assist with cash vault security and currency verification.
• Refer products and services to help members meet financial goals.

Full Time Clerical Staunton, VA, US

Overview

We are looking for an energetic and personable Teller to join our team in Fishersville. This role is a TEMPORARY position. In this role, you will focus on providing exceptional service to ValleyStar Credit Union members. You will handle member account transactions (deposits, withdrawals, account transfers, etc.) either on the teller line or at the drive-through station. You will refer products and services, handle confidential matters, and assist with any member concerns. To be successful in this role you will need to be energetic and personable, enjoy providing a positive member experience, and be computer savvy (Microsoft Office and can navigate banking systems/applications).

Responsibilities

• Share and post deposits, withdrawals, and account transfers.
• Posting all loan and VISA payments; processing night deposits.
• Closing share and share draft accounts.
• Scanning checks for processing at the Federal Reserve; processing and issuing counter checks and cashier’s checks.
• Processing “stop payments”, periodic transfers, payroll distributions, account modifications and wire transfer requests.
• Assist in verifying currency from the Federal Reserve, loading and unloading ATM cassettes, and loading cash dispense/recycling machines.
• Balancing assigned cash drawer daily.
• Refer products and services to members that will assist in meeting their financial goals.
• Respond to members’ requests, problems and complaints, and/or direct them to the proper person for specific information and assistance.
• Assist with proper management and security of cash vault.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Cash handling experience preferred
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Able to operate a personal computer, telephone, scanner, and copy machine
• Sit/stand for extended periods of time
• May be required to lift boxes more than 25 pounds
• May be asked to travel to various branch locations
