Job summary

Somerset Regal Bank in Bound Brook, NJ, onsite, is seeking a Bank Teller to handle deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and safe deposit payments while maintaining a balanced cash drawer and delivering friendly in-person and phone service.

You will promote bank products, assist with coin counting, close the branch daily, and help establish accounts for new customers. Strong math, organization, and discretion are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have cash handling experience.
• Efficient knowledge of standard office equipment operation, including a PC with email, and familiarity with basic software tools.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service in person and/or over the telephone.
• Process banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check item redemption, account holds, loan payments, and safe deposit rental payments.
• Maintain assigned cash drawer within established balance limits.
• Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer daily and prepare personal proof sheet.
• Actively educate and promote Bank products and services to customers to expand their relationship with the Bank.
• Assist customers and Management with use and maintenance of coin counting machine.
• Assist in closing the branch facility daily.
• Ensure daily upkeep of ATM and outdoor area; establish accounts for new/existing customers as needed.

Onsite: 220 West Union Avenue, Bound Brook, NJ 08805

Mondays – Friday 8:45 am – 5:15 pm

Saturdays (as scheduled) 8:15 am – 12:15 pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have cash handling experience.

RESPONSIBILITIIES:

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service in person and/or over the telephone.


• Process banking transactions including, but not limited to, deposits, withdrawals, check item redemption, account holds, loan payments, and safe deposit rental payments.


• Maintain assigned cash drawer within established balance limits.


• Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer daily and prepare personal proof sheet. May be responsible for preparation of branch proof, on occasion.


• Actively educate and promote awareness of Bank products and services to potential and existing customers in an effort to establish and/or expand the customers’ relationship with the Bank.


• Assist customers and Management with use and maintenance of coin counting machine.


• Assist in the procedures necessary to close the branch facility daily.


• Responsible for assuring daily upkeep of ATM and corresponding outdoor area, when necessary.


• Responsible for establishing accounts for new and existing customers, when necessary.


• Maintain current knowledge of all position related procedures and compliance.


• Comply with all Bank issued policies, including, but not limited to, the Information Security/Cybersecurity Policy, Acceptable Use Policy and Internet Access and E-Mail Use Policy, and any other Information Security and/or Cybersecurity communications/directives received from Management.


• Proficiently read, write and speak the English language.


• Perform additional duties as assigned by management necessary to maintain an efficiently run office, including cross-training in other Department or Bank functions.


• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.


• May travel to Bank or other locations for job related functions.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Efficient knowledge of standard office equipment operation, including a Personal Computer (PC) with email,
