Job summary

Somerset Regal Bank in Manville, NJ, is seeking an onsite Teller to provide friendly, efficient service to customers. You will handle deposits, withdrawals, check items, loan payments, and safe deposit transactions.

You will maintain cash drawer balances, balance currency and checks daily, promote bank products, and ensure compliance with security policies. Cash handling experience is required.

Qualifications

• Must have cash handling experience.
• Proficiency with standard office equipment (PC, printer, scanner).
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service in person and over the telephone.
• Process banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check item redemption, account holds, loan payments, and safe deposit rental payments.
• Maintain cash drawer within established balance limits and balance currency, coin, and checks daily.
• Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer daily and prepare personal proof sheet; assist with branch proof when needed.
• Actively educate and promote Bank products and services to customers to expand relationships.
• Assist customers with coin counting machine and ATM upkeep as needed.
• Help close the branch facility daily following procedures.
• Establish accounts for new and existing customers when necessary.

Onsite: 41 South Main St., Manville, NJ 08835

Mondays – Friday 8:45 am – 5:15 pm

Saturdays (as scheduled) 8:15 am – 12:15 pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have cash handling experience.

RESPONSIBILITIIES:

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service in person and/or over the telephone.
• Process banking transactions including, but not limited to, deposits, withdrawals, check item redemption, account holds, loan payments, and safe deposit rental payments.
• Maintain assigned cash drawer within established balance limits.
• Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer daily and prepare personal proof sheet. May be responsible for preparation of branch proof, on occasion.
• Actively educate and promote awareness of Bank products and services to potential and existing customers in an effort to establish and/or expand the customers’ relationship with the Bank.
• Assist customers and Management with use and maintenance of coin counting machine.
• Assist in the procedures necessary to close the branch facility daily.
• Responsible for assuring daily upkeep of ATM and corresponding outdoor area, when necessary.
• Responsible for establishing accounts for new and existing customers, when necessary.
• Maintain current knowledge of all position related procedures and compliance.
• Comply with all Bank issued policies, including, but not limited to, the Information Security/Cybersecurity Policy, Acceptable Use Policy and Internet Access and E-Mail Use Policy, and any other Information Security and/or Cybersecurity communications/directives received from Management.
• Proficiently read, write and speak the English language.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management necessary to maintain an efficiently run office, including cross-training in other Department or Bank functions.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
• May travel to Bank or other locations for job related functions.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Efficient knowledge of standard office equipment operation, including a Personal Computer (PC) with email,
• Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

Annual Salary: $31,000-$37,000
