Job summary

Somerset Regal Bank in Bound Brook, NJ is seeking a full-time Teller to provide in-person customer service and handle daily banking transactions onsite. The role includes deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments, with cash drawer maintenance and product promotion.

You will assist customers, manage coin counting, close the branch daily, keep ATM areas updated, and open new accounts when needed. English proficiency and discretion are essential.

Qualifications

• Cash handling experience required.
• Proficient with basic office equipment and PC.
• Must read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service in person and/or over the telephone.
• Process banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check item redemption, account holds, loan payments, and safe deposit rental payments.
• Maintain assigned cash drawer within established balance limits.
• Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer daily and prepare personal proof sheet; may prepare branch proof.
• Educate and promote Bank products and services to customers to grow relationships.
• Assist customers and Management with coin counting machine usage.
• Close branch daily procedures.
• Maintain ATM and outdoor area; assist as needed.
• Establish accounts for new and existing customers when necessary.
• Maintain knowledge of procedures and compliance.
• Read/write/speak English proficiently.
• Perform additional duties and cross-training as assigned.
• Work varied hours/days as business dictates.
• Travel to other locations for job functions if required.

Onsite: 220 West Union Avenue, Bound Brook, NJ 08805

Mondays - Friday 8:45 am - 5:15 pm

Saturdays (as scheduled) 8:15 am - 12:15 pm

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have cash handling experience.

RESPONSIBILITIIES

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service in person and/or over the telephone.
• Process banking transactions including, but not limited to, deposits, withdrawals, check item redemption, account holds, loan payments, and safe deposit rental payments.
• Maintain assigned cash drawer within established balance limits.
• Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer daily and prepare personal proof sheet. May be responsible for preparation of branch proof, on occasion.
• Actively educate and promote awareness of Bank products and services to potential and existing customers in an effort to establish and/or expand the customers' relationship with the Bank.
• Assist customers and Management with use and maintenance of coin counting machine.
• Assist in the procedures necessary to close the branch facility daily.
• Responsible for assuring daily upkeep of ATM and corresponding outdoor area, when necessary.
• Responsible for establishing accounts for new and existing customers, when necessary.
• Maintain current knowledge of all position related procedures and compliance.
• Comply with all Bank issued policies, including, but not limited to, the Information Security/Cybersecurity Policy, Acceptable Use Policy and Internet Access and E-Mail Use Policy, and any other Information Security and/or Cybersecurity communications/directives received from Management.
• Proficiently read, write and speak the English language.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management necessary to maintain an efficiently run office, including cross-training in other Department or Bank functions.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
• May travel to Bank or other locations for job related functions.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Efficient knowledge of standard office equipment operation, including a Personal Computer (PC) with email,

Annual Salary: $31,000-$37,000
