Job summary

Somerset Regal Bank in Manville, NJ, is seeking a branch teller to deliver friendly customer service, process deposits and withdrawals, and promote bank products.

This onsite role requires cash handling experience, a working knowledge of MS Word/Excel, and the ability to work varied hours, including Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Must have cash handling experience.
• Proficient reading, writing and speaking English.
• Experience with banking transactions is helpful.
• Knowledge of US currency denominations.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service in person and/or over the telephone.
• Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other transactions.
• Maintain cash drawer within established balance limits.
• Balance currency, coin, and checks daily and prepare proof sheets.
• Promote Bank products and services to grow customer relationships.
• Assist with coin counting machine operations and branch closing procedures.
• Ensure daily upkeep of ATM and surrounding areas.
• Establish accounts for new/existing customers as needed.
• Follow all policies including information security and privacy; work varied hours including Saturdays.

Onsite: 41 South Main St., Manville, NJ 08835

Mondays – Friday 8:45 am – 5:15 pm

Saturdays (as scheduled) 8:15 am – 12:15 pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have cash handling experience.

RESPONSIBILITIIES:

Provide friendly and efficient customer service in person and/or over the telephone.

Process banking transactions including, but not limited to, deposits, withdrawals, check item redemption, account holds, loan payments, and safe deposit rental payments.

Maintain assigned cash drawer within established balance limits.

Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer daily and prepare personal proof sheet. May be responsible for preparation of branch proof, on occasion.

Actively educate and promote awareness of Bank products and services to potential and existing customers in an effort to establish and/or expand the customers’ relationship with the Bank.

Assist customers and Management with use and maintenance of coin counting machine.

Assist in the procedures necessary to close the branch facility daily.

Responsible for assuring daily upkeep of ATM and corresponding outdoor area, when necessary.

Responsible for establishing accounts for new and existing customers, when necessary.

Maintain current knowledge of all position related procedures and compliance.

Comply with all Bank issued policies, including, but not limited to, the Information Security/Cybersecurity Policy, Acceptable Use Policy and Internet Access and E-Mail Use Policy, and any other Information Security and/or Cybersecurity communications/directives received from Management.

Proficiently read, write and speak the English language.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management necessary to maintain an efficiently run office, including cross-training in other Department or Bank functions.

Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.

May travel to Bank or other locations for job related functions.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Efficient knowledge of standard office equipment operation, including a Personal Computer (PC) with email,

Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

Demonstrate consistent positive interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with colleagues and

customers
