Job summary

Somerset Regal Bank in Manville, NJ is hiring a full-time teller to provide friendly, in-person and phone-based customer service. You will process deposits and withdrawals, handle check item redemptions, loan payments, and safe deposit payments, and maintain your cash drawer within established limits.

The role requires cash handling experience, proficiency with a PC, Word and Excel, and the ability to educate customers about bank products. You’ll work onsite at 41 South Main St.

Qualifications

• Must have cash handling experience.
• Proficient with basic PC software (Word/Excel).
• Able to read, write and speak English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service in person and over the telephone.
• Process deposits, withdrawals, check item redemption, account holds, loan payments, and safe deposit payments.
• Maintain cash drawer within established balance limits and balance currency, coin, and checks daily.
• Prepare personal proof sheet and assist in branch proof as needed.
• Promote and educate customers about Bank products and services to grow the relationship.
• Assist with coin counting machine and operate customer-facing duties.
• Close branch facilities daily and maintain ATM area.

Onsite: 41 South Main St., Manville, NJ 08835

Mondays – Friday 8:45 am – 5:15 pm

Saturdays (as scheduled) 8:15 am – 12:15 pm

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have cash handling experience.

RESPONSIBILITIIES

Provide friendly and efficient customer service in person and/or over the telephone.

Process banking transactions including, but not limited to, deposits, withdrawals, check item redemption, account holds, loan payments, and safe deposit rental payments.

Maintain assigned cash drawer within established balance limits.

Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer daily and prepare personal proof sheet. May be responsible for preparation of branch proof, on occasion.

Actively educate and promote awareness of Bank products and services to potential and existing customers in an effort to establish and/or expand the customers’ relationship with the Bank.

Assist customers and Management with use and maintenance of coin counting machine.

Assist in the procedures necessary to close the branch facility daily.

Responsible for assuring daily upkeep of ATM and corresponding outdoor area, when necessary.

Responsible for establishing accounts for new and existing customers, when necessary.

Maintain current knowledge of all position related procedures and compliance.

Comply with all Bank issued policies, including, but not limited to, the Information Security/Cybersecurity Policy, Acceptable Use Policy and Internet Access and E-Mail Use Policy, and any other Information Security and/or Cybersecurity communications/directives received from Management.

Proficiently read, write and speak the English language.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management necessary to maintain an efficiently run office, including cross-training in other Department or Bank functions.

Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.

May travel to Bank or other locations for job related functions.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Efficient knowledge of standard office equipment operation, including a Personal Computer (PC) with email,

Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
