Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) – Office of Forensic Services and Coordination seeks a Technical Assistance Coordinator (Program Specialist VII) to lead statewide forensic training, TA initiatives, and stakeholder engagement.

Reporting to the Director of Planning and Engagement, the role emphasizes strategic planning, program development, and system improvement to strengthen forensic services across Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ relevant experience.
• Experience at the intersection of behavioral health, criminal justice and juvenile justice.
• Experience in providing training and technical assistance at federal/state/local levels.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement statewide forensic training and technical assistance initiatives.
• Develop policies, procedures, and performance metrics for TA initiatives.
• Lead stakeholder meetings and workgroups; build consensus.
• Create public-facing TA products: webinars, toolkits, briefs.
• Oversee contracts, budgets, and compliance for TA initiatives.
• Prepare administrative reports on TA effectiveness.
