Job summary

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) in Helena seeks an epidemiologist to oversee the operation, quality, and performance of two core surveillance systems. You will ensure timely, accurate data to support prevention and control activities and provide epidemiologic stewardship of wastewater and syndromic surveillance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in epidemiology, statistics, informatics, data science, or a closely related degree.
• Three years of job-related experience in epidemiology.
• Skill in SAS or R.
• Ability to manipulate, clean, and analyze large, complex environmental and clinical datasets.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for a variety of audiences.
• Experience in managing electronic data exchange is preferred.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
