Job summary

Maricopa County Department of Public Health seeks an Epidemiologist to analyze vaccine-preventable disease data and communicate findings to internal and external partners. This contract position supports data-driven public health actions within the Office of Communicable Disease Data, Surveillance, and Outbreak Response.

You will develop reports, dashboards, and maps, monitor disease trends, and collaborate with epidemiologists and health staff to inform strategies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a closely related field.
• Equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications.
• Skilled in analysis software such as R or SAS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct epidemiologic analyses of vaccine-preventable disease data to monitor disease trends and identify at-risk populations or areas.
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, maps, and other data products to communicate findings and support data-driven public health actions.
• Analyze vaccination coverage and school immunization data to identify trends, disparities, and potential gaps in vaccination.
• Collaborate with epidemiologists, Community Wellness and Health staff, and other internal and external partners to provide accurate and timely epidemiologic information.
• Support cooperative agreement activities, performance measures, and grant deliverables through data analysis, reporting, and evaluation activities.
