Operates the hospital telephone switchboard and connects incoming local and long-distance calls. Provides routine hospital information and directs callers to appropriate departments or staff. Handles special, long-distance, and occasional overseas telephone calls. Responds to hospital emergencies by paging personnel and contacting appropriate staff. Monitors hospital alarm systems and contacts Security personnel during emergencies.
Maintains staff directories, call-back schedules, emergency priority lists, and shift reports.
