Job Description

Saint Luke’s Hospital and our Smithville Campus are seeking a Telephone Operator to join our team. You will answer inbound calls to the switchboard and direct them to the appropriate department or individual. This role handles all emergency events calmly and efficiently, following established protocols for each facility.

This position will operate at two campuses: Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City and Smithville.

Shift Details: Hours are either 9:30am-8:00pm or 8:30am-7:00pm.

Responsibilities:

• Provide helpful information to internal and external callers
• Maintain detailed documentation in communication logs
• Dispatch security requests via two-way radios promptly
• Monitor alerts and alarms
• Notify relevant departments or personnel as needed
• Assist in mentoring and training new employees

Ideal candidates will have exceptional interpersonal skills, empathy, strong critical thinking, multitasking ability, and adaptability. Customer service skills, willingness to learn, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential.
