Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care/Step-Down Unit. The role emphasizes close patient monitoring, rapid assessment, and collaborative care across disciplines.

Part-time shifts include days/nights with 2x12 hour shifts and rotation every third weekend and holidays. The ideal candidate has RN licensure in Indiana, BSN preferred, ACLS/BLS, and 1+ year PCU/Step-Down experience.

Qualifications

• ASN/BSN required; BSN preferred.
• Active RN license in Indiana or NLC.
• BLS certification required; ACLS within timeframe.
• Experience in PCU/Step-Down or high-acuity settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and identify condition changes.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, respiratory status and labs; respond to changes.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, case management, and others.
• Educate patients/families on diagnoses, meds, discharge needs.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the EHR.
• Support safety culture, teamwork and respectful communication.
