Jefferson Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to support a designated unit with a focus on patient-centered care and safe, coordinated treatment. The RN will lead daily operations, serve as a clinical resource, and collaborate with interprofessional teams to optimize patient flow and outcomes.

The role emphasizes adherence to nursing standards, participation in governance programs, and ongoing professional development within a Magnet-enabled environment.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 3 years as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
• Effective communication—ability to transmit and interpret ideas clearly with patients and families.
• Patient- and family-centered practice—respect for patient preferences and cultural beliefs.
• Cultural awareness and ability to connect with diverse backgrounds.
• Care coordination and understanding of multidisciplinary care.
• Patient safety knowledge and risk management.
• Medication administration and prescription knowledge for continuing treatment.
• Discharge planning and post-discharge needs awareness.
• Assessment and diagnosis knowledge for patient assessment and clinical judgment.
• Health information documentation in written or electronic form.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Communicates with and supports interprofessional teams, patients, families and designated care partners.
• Serves as a clinical resource regarding policies, procedures, patient standards, performance improvement, and risk management.
• Collaborates with medical staff to ensure quality patient care and plan of care rounds as applicable.
• Assists in coordinating timely patient throughput, admissions, transfers, and discharges for the designated unit.
• Provides schedules and on-call coverage, resolves issues and complaints.
• Monitors staff schedules to maintain adequate staffing and complete payroll in collaboration with Nurse Manager.
• Evaluates and supports performance improvement in nursing practice.
• Participates in Magnet and Shared Governance through mentoring and councils.
