Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Registered Nurse in New Jersey to provide evidence-based nursing care, collaborate with the care team, and ensure safe medication administration using bar-scanning and electronic documentation.

The role requires an active New Jersey nursing license, BLS/CPR certification, and at least six months of nursing experience or Nurse Residency participation; one year experience is preferred. Telemetry certification is a plus, BSN in progress is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey nursing license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association is required.
• Six (6) or more months of relevant nursing experience OR active participation in Hackensack Meridian Health’s Nurse Residency Program.
• One year of nursing experience strongly preferred.
• Telemetry certification is a plus.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of nursing practices according to up-to-date evidence-based research and standards of care to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
• Ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues, and the health care team regarding patient status and plans.
• Medication administration with bar-scanning and documentation technologies for safe delivery.
• Documentation of assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluations in the EHR.
• Patient and family education to optimize health and disease management.
• Multi-disciplinary discharge planning to ensure safe transitions of care.
