Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem invites applications for a Patient Care Technician, Medical Telemetry, at Highland Park Hospital. The role supports RN/LPN in providing safe patient care and comfort for all ages in a 40-hour day shift with rotating weekends.

You will perform bedside care, assist with ADLs, monitor vitals, and help with admissions, transfers and discharge tasks. Excellent teamwork and adherence to safety are required.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the US.
• Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred.
• Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients and visitors, answering call lights and phones.
• Perform hourly rounding on assigned patients to ensure comfort and safety.
• Assist with ADLs such as bathing, grooming, eating, and positioning under RN/LPN supervision.
• Assist with admission, discharge and transfers, room setup and patient orientation.
• Document patient care activities, vital signs, intake/output, and other procedures under supervision.
• Maintain unit support duties including restocking equipment and keeping records.
