Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or nursing students with one semester of clinicals completed.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs and glucose measurements.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Prioritizes tasks and functions well under stress.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
• Answers calls using proper etiquette and communicates with staff, families and patients.
• Manages unit workflow with RN/manager supervision as needed.
• Performs pre-census and validates daily admission, discharge and census lists.
