Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician in New Jersey. You will provide direct patient care across age groups, perform routine clinical tasks, monitor patient status, and support the care team from admission to discharge.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED and complete a CNA/MA/PCT program or equivalent. Apprenticeship options, EMT or Home Health Aide backgrounds welcomed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of one of: CNA, Medical Assistant or PCT program; or Fundamentals of Nursing program from an accredited school; or HMH PCT Apprenticeship.
• Eligible candidates with EMT/Home Health Aide/CMA/MA/PCT backgrounds may be considered for the Apprenticeship track.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care based on age, safety, and education needs.
• Communicate with patients and care team regarding status and care.
• Assist with assessment, admission, and discharge processes.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKG, vitals, and specimen handling as directed.
• Maintain equipment, restock supplies, and ensure a safe care environment.
