Job summary

The clinical nurse role at UCI Health involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care for adult patients. You will develop and implement a plan of care, monitor patient progress, and advocate for timely discharge when appropriate.

As a PCC on request, you will mentor students and newly joined nurses, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety across shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. This role is based in Irvine, California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required for external candidates.
• Minimum 2 years telemetry experience.
• Minimum 2 years inpatient clinical nursing in adult acute care.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Excellent English reading and writing communication.
• Bilingual skills to communicate with patients and families (preferred).
• Current RN license in California; BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement plans of care for a specific patient group.
• Assess, intervene and advocate for patients across the continuum of care.
• Evaluate outcomes and readiness for discharge; revise plans as needed.
• Mentor students and new nurses on the unit; act as PCC as requested.
