Job summary

University of California - Irvine Health is seeking an experienced clinical nurse to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and develop individualized care plans for a defined patient group on the unit. The role emphasizes ongoing assessment, intervention, and advocacy across the care continuum.

The successful candidate will have a BSN and at least 2 years of telemetry and inpatient adult acute care experience, with the ability to work flexible shifts and communicate effectively in English.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years telemetry experience.
• Minimum 2 years inpatient clinical nursing experience in adult acute care.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to maintain flexibility in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of patients.
• Perform professional nursing duties incorporating psychomotor and cognitive skills to assess, plan, intervene and advocate for patients.
• Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care, and readiness for discharge; revise plan or make referrals as necessary.
• Act as a role model and mentor to students and nurses new to the unit.
• Function as a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) as requested by supervisor/manager.
