Job summary

The Monitor Technician will perform surveillance and interpretation of cardiac rhythms via telemetry for patients across the hospital on telemetry capable units. The role follows a 7pm–7:30am shift pattern and requires assisting with lead placement, battery changes, and equipment assignment.

Qualified applicants have a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and must pass telemetry exams within 90 days. Prior healthcare tech exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Must pass telemetry examination within 90 days.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients via telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Assist with lead placement, battery changes, and equipment assignment.
• Ensure equipment and software are programmed with correct patient/staff information.
• Communicate rhythm status changes to relevant staff within required timelines.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment; restock supplies.
• Work with the assigned unit to meet professional, clinical, or technical competencies.
