Excellent opportunity to join a fast‑paced 17‑bed ICU unit monitoring heart rhythms for patients. The role involves identifying cardiac arrhythmias and communicating changes to nurses or other medical staff. A telemetry test will be administered as part of the interview process.
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous ECG monitoring through assessment of EKG strips and accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias, including measurement of P‑R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations.
- Troubleshoot monitoring problems, identify probable causes, and implement solutions to correct issues.
- Maintain inventories, supplies, hardware, and telemetry transmitters in working condition, and report malfunctions promptly.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education Required: High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum Experience Required: None.
- Minimum Licensure/Certification Required by Law: None.
- Additional Qualifications: Knowledge of cardiac rhythms/basic EKG interpretation; Certification as a Certified Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Technician (CCMTT) or Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) preferred; Successful completion of PHC telemetry monitoring competency assessment within 30 days of hire required; One year of experience as a monitor technician preferred.
