Job summary

Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips is seeking a Monitor Tech to provide continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring, interpretation, and documentation within the DPH Centralized Telemetry team.

This role supports patient care in a 285-bed facility and requires careful attention to telemetry data and escalation protocols. The position offers comprehensive benefits starting day one, with a night-shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts and rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• ECG competency assessment required with 84%+ on Rhythm Test or completion of ECG course and pass within 60 days.
• If no prior related experience, complete Orlando Health ECG course and Rhythm Test within 60 days with 84%+.
• BLS/Health Care provider certification required.
• Prior EKG or healthcare industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and review patient data to determine baseline rhythm.
• Demonstrate competency in telemetry lead placement for rhythm analysis.
• Analyze rhythm and record measurements every 6 hours or PRN per protocol.
• Notify RN of rhythm changes and follow escalation protocol.
• Notify RN if patient off monitor and follow escalation protocol.
• Maintain knowledge of central monitoring station operation.
• Maintain alarm settings on each telemetry patient per shift.
• Provide shift reports and coordinate telemetry initiation/discontinuation.
